The Opportunity
As a Virtual Emergency Medicine Physician, you’ll collaborate with on-site clinical teams using advanced technology to assess and treat patients in real time following all applicable CPSNL requirements, e.g.:
Provide virtual emergency care, receiving/providing handovers from/to other medical teams
Evaluate, diagnose and treat a range of presentations, ordering tests and reviewing results
Coordinate with nurses, escalate critical cases, and ensure smooth transitions
Build relationships with a cross-functional on-site and virtual team committed to patient-first care
Help bring innovation, safety, and quality to every patient encounter
What You’ll Need
Current licensure in good standing with a Canadian provincial college
Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL) and privileges for the sites where you will work as a Virtual Emergency Physician (process supported by Teladoc after successful credentialing)
CCFP(EM) or FRCPC-EM designation
At least 1–3 years of clinical experience in emergency medicine
Passion for equitable, high-quality care and for bringing it virtually to patients in need
Comfortable using or learning digital platforms and EMRs
Residing in Canada
Experience working in the digital health sector preferred
