Teladoc Health Canada is seeking Canadian-licensed physicians to join our growing national team of virtual clinicians. This remote opportunity allows physicians to help shape the future of healthcare delivery while improving access to high-quality expert care for patients across Canada.

About the Expert Medical Services (EMS) Program
Through the EMS program, physicians collaborate closely with Teladoc Health’s internal clinical teams to deliver comprehensive, personalized expert evaluations. Opinions are delivered through a secure, user-friendly virtual platform that enables document sharing, flexible scheduling across time zones, and detailed written reports for Member review.
The EMS program operates Monday to Friday during regular business hours (8am-8pm EST) and requires a higher level of clinical engagement and time commitment per case compared to standard telehealth services.
Teladoc’s EMS program is designed to support Members throughout their medical journey by:
Facilitating remote opinions from specialty-matched clinicians for expert support
Collecting and reviewing medical records and diagnostic imaging to create a personalized health summary
Providing tailored responses to Members’ medical questions from dedicated physicians or leading experts for more complex cases
Offering tools and resources such as condition-specific educational materials, reputable websites, and recommendations to relevant support organizations and facilities
When in-person care is required, assisting Members in identifying appropriate providers near their location, with limited support available for out-of-country recommendations and resources when appropriate
The Physicians main deliverables are:
Comprehensive clinical intake for complex cases
Collaboration with the nursing and administrative teams to ensure appropriate records and diagnostics testing results are obtained for case
Completion of detailed Clinical Summary
Review and approval of Expert final reports
Report discussion with members on complex cases
Teladoc supports Members across a wide range of medical conditions by delivering virtual expert evaluations of diagnoses and treatment plans. Through coordinated medical record collection and diagnostic review, the Teladoc team provides expert clinical guidance from intake through case completion.
Associate Physician, Virtual Expert Medical Services - Role and Responsibilities
Connect virtually with Members within 24 hours of case notification to conduct a medical interview and understand clinical history and concerns, gather questions from members
Guide Members in identifying relevant medical records and diagnostic information to be sent in by member or requested by our medical records team
Complete a comprehensive clinical summary within four (4) business days
Incorporate relevant test results, imaging, and documentation for expert review
Identify appropriate specialty expertise when additional consultation is required
Review expert opinions and synthesize findings into a clear, written summary
Discuss final reports and recommendations with Members for complex cases
Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with all federal, provincial, and territorial privacy legislation
Qualifications
Active Canadian medical license in good standing with a provincial medical regulatory authority
Certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or College of Family Physicians of Canada or equivalent
Proven record of strong clinical performance
Residency in Canada is required
Commitment to delivering high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care
Strong interest in advancing virtual care and acting as a clinical ambassador
Proficiency with electronic medical records and digital health platforms
Multilingual abilities (English, French, or other languages) are considered an asset but are not required
