The Opportunity
The Associate Medical Director, Primary Care is an advisory leadership role that provides medical direction to providers delivering primary and episodic care across Canada where we have Health Authority Partnerships. This role ensures excellent clinical care and supports meeting service-level agreements (SLAs) established by Teladoc. You will:
Work closely with the Medical Leadership to provide a clinical perspective on primary and episodic care, supporting the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, comprehensive, and compassionate care to our member patients
Provide advice to medical, nursing and administration teams, both internally and externally, on clinical care delivery and best practices, representing healthcare providers’ experience and insights
Monitor provider feedback, including team chats and channels, meet with team members as appropriate and recommend strategies to maintain and enhance provider engagement
Promote a welcoming and inspiring workplace culture for care teams.
Collaborate with the Quality Department from a medical lens to review policies, procedures, standards, and clinical practice guidelines (CPGs), and support focused and ongoing provider practice evaluations (FPPE/OPPE)
Collaborate with the Quality Department to monitor clinical trends and patient outcomes related to program and clinical care
Provide clinical insight to support provider scheduling and recruitment processes
Perform other duties as reasonably requested by Medical Leadership
What You’ll Need
Current, unrestricted licensure with a provincial college
CCFP or equivalent designation
Experience leading groups of primary care practitioners in a clinic and/or academic setting
Eligible and willing to obtain a College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL) licence, if required
Provide a minimum of 4 hours of primary care every 2 weeks in the PHC/FCT Program in NL; clinical hours are paid separately from leadership compensation
Bilingual (French) preferred
