Teladoc Health Canada has initiated a bold project to evolve and strengthen its product and technology strategy, stack and operating model (Canada R&D Project). This project was initiated in 2025 and will have multiple phases tracking to 2027 and beyond.
We are looking for an R&D Project Manager, on a 1-year contract basis, with a possibility for expansion for two or more years.
The R&D Project Manager is responsible for implementing technological solutions to solve business problems. To be successful in this position, one must have:
The ability and discipline to work on multiple projects and/or workstreams
Knowledge of and experience in technology solution delivery
Excellent organizational, time management, communication and decision-making skills
Be comfortable working together with other Project Managers, particularly on large-scale projects/programs
The candidate best suited for this position takes the lead of complex projects, navigating multiple lines of businesses, and partners with all levels of stakeholders to accomplish positive outcomes with minimal supervision. Thought leadership, an ability to execute and achieve set goals are key attributes, and true leadership qualities are key attributes the candidate in this role must possess.
Key workstreams supported by this role include Canada Senior Leadership Team, Product, Technology, Operations, Clinical, Commercial, Finance, HR, and others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage projects end-to-end (i.e., initiation through close) including:
Planning, leading, facilitating, coordinating, and tracking day-to-day activities required to ensure projects are completed on time, in scope and within budget, using standard project plan templates and documents
Maintain and manage project documentation and artifacts across SharePoint, Confluence, and Jira; communicate changes/overall project health to stakeholders with respect to timelines, budget, scope and quality
Proactively identify and track risks to project success; develop effective action plans for remediation and resolution, or escalation where required
Orchestrate project workstreams, project operating and communication models while keeping leads accountable
Serve as primary point of contact for managing vendor partner relationships and coordinating all vendor-related documentation including managing Statements of Work (SOWs), invoices, NDAs, contracts, and ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
Support RFP responses, ensuring all submissions reflect the most current R&D capabilities and initiatives. Review RFP content for accuracy and share new information with teams as relevant.
Qualifications Expected for Position
Bachelor’s Degree and Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
Minimum 5 years of experience in:
Business and technology project leadership at an enterprise level ideally in a healthcare setting;
Software engineering and technology including SaaS/PaaS implementation
Experience with provincial health authority or government RFP processes
Demonstrated knowledge of industry-recognized project management methodologies including Agile, including proven implementation experience:
Ability to lead multi-stream project teams and act as an effective thought partner and team leader for project team/matrixed staff
Strong proficiency with project management tools including Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite
Proven ability to create detailed project plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and resource allocation; successful execution of set goals
Comfortable executing tasks across the typical project management hierarchy to support team success and project momentum (e.g., scheduling and documenting outcomes of meetings, onboarding of new team members, development of presentations for senior colleagues, etc.)
Effective communication skills (verbal and written) across all levels of an organization
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Experience managing vendor relationships, contract documentation and supporting development of RFPs
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity, while exhibiting grace under pressure
Nice to haves:
Experience working in implementation of Salesforce platform
Proficiency in Spanish language (written, verbal)
